An Iconic Surfboard Honouring Four Decades of Craft

This year marks a major milestone for DHD Surfboards—40 years of shaping by Darren Handley, one of the most respected and prolific surfboard shapers in the world. Since starting in 1984, Darren has shaped over 40,000 boards and left his mark on some of surfing’s greatest moments.

From world titles to breakthrough performance boards, Darren’s career highlights include 11 World Titles, 16 Bells Beach trophies, and 2 Stab in the Dark wins. His relentless pursuit of performance and passion for building boards that elevate surfing has earned him a place among the true icons of the shaping bay.

To celebrate the milestone, DHD is proud to partner with the Mick Fanning Foundation to launch their limited-edition 40 Years Surfboard—a nod to the past and a tribute to the legacy - with the raffling of Steph's personal board. The surfboard itself is a throwbacks to the early ‘90s with fixed fins, longer outlines, and that unmistakable old-school rocker.

This is a tribute to four decades of hard work, innovation, and dedication to the craft of making boards that perform at the highest level. To make it more exciting, Darren has only shaped 40 of these boards, and we've got the first two to raffle off!!
